Made from a very supple, soft, and smooth, yet substantial, high-quality ikkoshi-ji fabric. The design features a fine same (sharkskin) pattern in off-white on a black background, with seigaiha (blue sea waves), bamboo stripes, and yoroke (wavy) stripes in Edo komon style towards the hem. The lining (hakkake) has an off-white and gray mansuji (thousand lines) pattern (100% silk). This kimono is suitable for a wide range of ages. *The same (sharkskin), gyogi (proper), and tooshi (straight) patterns are representative of Edo komon and are considered highly elegant designs known as the Edo Komon San'yaku (three major Edo komon patterns). This is an Edo komon patterned houmongi (visiting kimono) that will look beautifully stylish and elegant, perfect for tea ceremonies where a graceful atmosphere prevails.
