Description
Condition: For parts or not working Condition Description: Cosmetically in good vintage condition with an authentic age-related patina. Mechanical Note: The winding key rotates/winds but does not engage the internal gear train to start the clock ticking. Additionally, the external F/S (Fast/Slow) speed regulator knob is missing from the back slot. Sold strictly as-is for parts, repair, or display. Item Description: Up for sale is an authentic, vintage Westclox Big Ben Chime Alarm (Style 5) mechanical alarm clock. This iconic piece of American timekeeping was designed by famed industrial designer Henry Dreyfuss and produced in LaSalle, Illinois, during the 1940s era. * Authenticity Confirmed: The back casing features the correct U.S. Design Patent stamp DES. 114262(issued in 1939). The underside base is officially stamped with movement code 69-C, identifying this as the desirable Standard Style 5 profile (2-inch deep base). * Aesthetics: Classic ivory/off-white casing, a beautiful Art Deco pedestal base with brass trim, and clean sans-serif typography on the face. * Mechanical Status: NON-RUNNING / AS-IS. The winding key turns/winds but the movement does not engage or transfer power to tick. The external speed regulator knob for the F/S slot is also missing, though the slot remains open for repair access. This is an ideal restoration project for a clock hobbyist, a valuable source of original parts, or a perfect mid-century modern display piece. Please review all photos ca
