1964 Jim Beam Genie Bottle Decanter, Olive Green Glass, Mid-Century Barware

Vintage 1964 Jim Beam D-334 olive green glass genie bottle decanter with matching glass stopper, a striking piece of mid-century barware associated with the bottle design made famous by I Dream of Jeannie. Standing an impressive 14 inches tall, this sculptural decanter has a deep smoke/olive green color, fluted bulbous base, elongated neck, and distinctive pointed glass stopper. At approximately 5 inches across its widest point, it has substantial display presence without taking up much shelf or bar space. The underside is embossed: D-334 119 64 FEDERAL LAW FORBIDS SALE OR REUSE OF THIS BOTTLE. The base retains the period embossed wording “Federal Law Forbids Sale or Reuse of This Bottle.” This is a historic marking required on American liquor bottles during this era; the federal requirement for this wording was eliminated in 1964. The “64” marking dates this example to 1964. This D-334 bottle design is associated with Jim Beam and was manufactured by Wheaton Glass. The bottle style is also well known among collectors because bottles of this design were adapted for use in the television series I Dream of Jeannie. This is an original vintage liquor decanter and not a television prop or reproduction of the painted television bottle. CONDITION Excellent vintage condition overall. The olive green glass remains glossy and displays beautifully, with no obvious cracks or significant chips observed. There is a small localized area of surface roughness along the upper edge/rim
