I've never seen gnarled bamboo of this caliber before! ☆

It's so cool,
this has been my favorite instrument that I've cherished.

It's a 1.5-shaku (F key) shakuhachi.
Approximately 450mm in length and weighing approximately 275g.

It's a length that is occasionally needed,
so it has been used for various performances in both Japanese and Western music.

Sound production has been confirmed! ☆

[Sound]
Despite being a shorter pipe, it has a solid, core sound,
yet it resonates clearly and refreshingly!

[Crack Prevention]
Given the extreme age of the bamboo,
there are very thin vertical lines on the surface, barely visible,
near the embouchure, but

it appears the maker skillfully applied crack prevention during its creation.
You wouldn't notice them at all unless you were specifically told and observed closely!
The bamboo material has been utilized with great care and effort.

Since they are only on the surface and are firmly secured,
there are absolutely no issues with the sound,
and all notes, including the low 'Otsu' register, play clearly! ☆

Likely water buffalo with silver binding.

[Joint Decoration]
Silver thick wrap (solid silver)!
This is believed to be a top-grade shakuhachi from its era.

There is no looseness or play in the joint.

A rare masterpiece made from gnarled bamboo,
