This is the lining of a formal kimono (irotomesode) that has been taken apart, with the outer fabric and hakake (lower part of the lining) removed. The body, sleeves, and collar are still attached and have not been fully disassembled. There are traces of stitching thread and remaining threads from being taken apart. Some of the cotton basting threads (threads that hold the outer fabric and lining together at the seams) have discolored, leaving faint spot stains on the basting thread marks in places. There are also areas outside the seams that have faint spot stains. We ask for your consideration if you understand vintage fabrics and old textiles.

While there are no signs of use, this is likely a long-term storage item. It doesn't have a strong camphor smell, but if you shake it out, you might notice a faint storage odor like incense.

The color is not pure white, but a slightly beige-toned ecru. As it's for formal wear, it's light and thin, but I believe it's a good, sturdy material. We hope you'll take this opportunity to try out the quality of silk affordably.
