Fushimi Ningyo Tanka - Kan no Mushi Fūji Inu (Charm for Curing Childhood Ailments Dog) - Lucky Charm, Folk Toy, New.

This is a rare folk toy (new) of the Kan no Mushi Fūji Inu (Charm for Curing Childhood Ailments Dog) produced by Tanka, a Fushimi Ningyo maker with six generations of history, located in front of Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto.

When it comes to dogs in Fushimi Ningyo, it's the Chin (狆).
The Chin is a small dog that was loved by people from the Edo to Meiji periods. They were kept indoors and are characterized by their black ears and curled tails. However, with the introduction of various Western dog breeds to Japan during the Meiji era, their popularity waned, and it is said that their numbers drastically decreased in the Taisho era.
