?? Characteristics
The plant grows to 20-30 cm tall. As the name suggests, the leaves have long, narrow, serrated edges like a saw.

?? Young leaves are an essential herb for flavoring ethnic dishes in Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Laotian, Singaporean, and Malaysian cuisines.
The roots can also be ground and used as a seasoning.

? Yumaiha (Oil-Vegetable Leaf)
Yumaiha is said to be a type of Lactuca sativa, the same species as Romaine lettuce, and is classified as a non-heading lettuce. The leaves are long and narrow, and unlike Romaine lettuce, the tips are pointed rather than rounded.

. Yumaiha is recommended for stir-fries, but the young, tender leaves can also be eaten raw.
. Boiled and dressed Yumaiha
Blanch Yumaiha briefly, then plunge into cold water. Once cooled, squeeze out excess water, cut into bite-sized pieces, and enjoy with various dressings or as a side dish.
. Stir-fried Yumaiha with minced meat
