Description
Rare Vintage Jacob M. Oldak Running Man Olympic-Style Cufflinks For sale is a unique pair of mid-century novelty cufflinks featuring an articulated-style caricature of a runner. These are a classic example of modernist sports-themed jewelry from the post-war era. Details: Maker: Stamped with the famous Jacob M. Oldak patent: PAT 2472958. Oldak was a renowned Brooklyn designer and the original inventor of the swivel-toggle mechanism seen here. Design: Stylized Running Man or Olympic Runner in a dynamic pose. Condition: Vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. As shown in the photos, there is some thinning/wear to the gold leaf finish on the legs, revealing the beautiful bronze patina beneath. This adds to the authentic vintage character of the piece. The swivel mechanisms are fully functional.
