Vtg J. Anderson Hand-Turned Elm Wood Bowl 7" Signed 2015-Natural Void Accents

This is a beautiful, one-of-a-kind hand-turned wood bowl crafted from solid Elm by artisan J. Anderson. It is signed and dated Oct. 2015 on the bottom base. Measuring 7 inches across, this mid-sized bowl features a spectacular, open-air natural bark inclusion/void built right into the side of the piece. Rather than hiding this natural characteristic, the artisan masterfully turned, carved, and polished around the opening celebrating the unique life and history of the original tree trunk. The piece showcases deep honey-toned grain patterns and striking dark mineral inclusions.  Important Note on Function: Because of the natural open hole on the side wall, this bowl is explicitly intended for decorative display, a jewelry/key catchall, or for holding larger dry, items like whole fruit or pinecones. It cannot be used to hold iquids, small grains, or fine salads. A stunning rustic or wabi-sabi accent piece for any entryway table, dresser, or shelf!
