This is the RIDGE MOUNTAIN GEAR version of the Thermo-Compass manufactured by Sun Company. It combines a compass and a thermometer capable of measuring temperatures from -30°C to 50°C. It's useful for day hikes, overnight hikes, and for checking temperatures inside or outside your tent at night. Recording temperature data along with information about your clothing and sleeping gear can be very helpful.
You can attach it to your existing keychain or use it as a standalone keychain. Please note that the compass magnet can be strongly affected by vehicles, high-voltage power lines, steel desks, and electrical appliances such as TV speakers, which may cause it to point in the wrong direction. The back of the unit includes a table for measuring perceived temperature (m/s) in windy conditions.
*Waterproof treatment has been applied.
