Hutongs are located mainly within the old city of Beijing, China. Traditional residential houses of ordinary people line these narrow alleys. The protagonist, Chin, lives in such a town.
He wakes up at 6 AM, starts his day by fixing his wind-up clock that is always five minutes slow, combs his silver hair, and gets ready. He visits customers' homes on his tricycle to give haircuts, enjoys Mahjong while chatting about everyday life, and always goes to bed at 9 PM.
He has worked diligently for 81 years. His quiet presence touches our hearts... and asks us the meaning of living a rich life.
