Description
This is a wooden sign made from warm, natural wood, carefully handcrafted one by one.
The sign is made by joining two cedar boards, each measuring 55cm in height, 20cm in width, and 2.5cm in thickness, with hinges.
It is a freestanding, easel-style sign.
It is inscribed with 商い中 (Open for Business) and 支度中 (Preparing for Business).
The Japanese-style brushstroke design creates a striking presence.
The boards have been sanded, lightly scorched to bring out the wood grain, and colored with brown paint.
The surface has been coated multiple times with urethane varnish. The lettering is done with thick oil-based paint.
Recently, there has been an increase in customers purchasing signs as gifts.
